Ordos Ejin Horoo International Airport in the city of Ordos achieved a new milestone as of Oct 14, having handled 2.01 million passengers and 9,912.9 metric tons of cargo and mail in 2023, as well as 22,024 aircraft takeoffs and landings.
The airport now operates 74 flight routes connecting to 62 cities.
Since the start of the summer, the airport's transport production data has been hitting new highs.

On Aug 4, it saw 113 takeoffs and landings, with 13,390 passengers handled. This single-day passenger throughput broke the airport's record since it opened.
This year, it has increased flights to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and other top-tier cities. It has also added routes to Nanyang, Ulaanhot, Hailaar, and introduced routes to Jinggangshan and Xuzhou in East China, as well as Fuyang, Yueyang, and Shiyan in Central and South China.
The airport will officially begin its winter flight timetable from Oct 29, with the plan being to operate 46 routes to 51 destinations.
During the winter flight season, daily flights to Beijing will be capped at six, while those to Zhengzhou and Shanghai will be limited to three and four, respectively.
