On Zhang Lilong's 100 hectares of farmland in Xiazhuang village, Laishui county of Baoding, Hebei province, five large planters roared back and forth to sow wheat seeds into the soil on Tuesday.
Zhang is a villager with a large-scale farmland. During this year's planting season, he received help from the county's agricultural bureau which sent a technical team to guide him in various aspects, including seed selection, fertilization and planting.
Their common goal is to ensure that the winter wheat could be planted on time, laying a solid foundation for a prosperous harvest next year.
According to local government, the county will plant a total of 6,000 hectares of wheat for this winter. Due to weather conditions, the sowing time was delayed compared to previous years.
In order to ensure smooth planting, the county has taken anticipatory measures and conducted training for grain growers and machine operators.
Additionally, an agricultural technical team with over 80 professionals was sent out to provide guidance on scientific cultivation.
It is predicted that the planting work in the county will be completed by Friday.
