The physical site of the Center for Science and Technology Exchange and Cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries was put into operation in Hengqin, Zhuhai on Oct 12.
The center is the first international technology exchange and transfer platform established by the Ministry of Science and Technology on the Guangzhou-Zhuhai-Macao Sci-tech Innovation Corridor and was jointly built by Macao, Zhuhai, and Hengqin.
As a key part of the Guangzhou-Zhuhai-Macao Sci-tech Innovation Corridor, it is hoped that the center will deepen sci-tech exchanges and cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking countries, said Zhang Guangjun, vice minister of science and technology, at the center's opening ceremony.
He also stated that it will further strengthen cooperation between the Chinese mainland and Portuguese-speaking countries in the transfer and application of sci-tech achievements, innovation, and entrepreneurship and build a new pattern of sci-tech opening-up and cooperation at a higher level.
