Tongzhou district in Nantong, Jiangsu province has launched a unique initiative to boost the development of its home textile industry by introducing specialized "Nantong Home Textile" tags, aiming to create a distinctive identity for the city's home textile sector.
The first use of the tags took place during a livestream festival organized by a local enterprise.
Apart from the tags, Tongzhou has taken many efforts to help Nantong's home textile industry receive national and global recognition. They include the establishment of a dedicated home textile market, the creation of the Nantong (Home Textile) Intellectual Property Rapid Protection Center, and the development of an e-commerce industrial park.
Currently, Tongzhou's home textile sector has seven well-known trademarks, 22 provincial renowned trademarks, 13 provincial name-brand products, and five industrial brand incubation pilot demonstration enterprises.
Many home textile companies have expanded their reach to international markets by establishing overseas networks. For example, the website of Nio Seller, created by Nio Seller Co Ltd, has provided flexible supply chain services for home textile cross-border exports to over 2,000 global e-commerce online retail sellers. Furthermore, Nantong Jiangmu International Trade Co Ltd has established an overseas warehouse in Russia that serves 82 cross-border e-commerce enterprises, contributing an average of 30 million yuan ($4.11 million) to home textile exports annually.
From January to August this year, Tongzhou's home textile cross-border e-commerce exports exceeded $10 million, a growth of over 17 percent year-on-year.
