Jinan performances dazzle at Hwaseong Cultural Festival

Performers from Jinan participated in Chinese-style programs involving music, songs, operas and acrobatics at the 60th Suwon Hwaseong Cultural Festival on Oct 8 in Hwaseong, Suwon,South Korea.

This year's Suwon Hwaseong Cultural Festival coincided with the 30th anniversary of the establishment of friendship city ties between Jinan and Suwon.

To commemorate this occasion, the Jinan bureau of culture and tourism organized performances that integrated the artistic resources from three state-owned performing arts groups, including Jinan's opera house, theater and acrobatic troupe.

Nine outstanding young actors were selected to perform in "Jasmine Flower", which combines Chinese traditional opera, national instrumental music and female solo singing, as well as the acrobatic show "Brothers-Duo Techniques", which highlighted the art of athleticism, incorporated elements of dance and showcased the strength and beauty of Chinese acrobatics.

The unique programs captivated the audience of over 10,000 people, who applauded and cheered enthusiastically.

Han Wei, deputy mayor of the Jinan Municipal People's Government, attended the celebration and enjoyed the performances.

Art troupes from Suwon and Suwon's sister cities in Germany, Vietnam, Indonesia, and other countries also performed on the same stage.

"I feel very fortunate to represent Jinan in this cultural exchange event," said He Ruixue, a young actor who took part in the performance. "I hope that through our performances, we can showcase the grandeur of China, Shandong, and Jinan to the audience from Suwon."
