Construction continued smoothly on projects in Zhuhai during the recently concluded Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holidays that ran from Sept 29 to Oct 6.
Concrete pouring was finished on the first bottom board in the basement of the new Zhuhai Space Center on Sept 29, and that for the second on Oct 1. Construction starting in June, the new center will cover a combined floor area of about 76,000 square meters (17.8 acres) and three floors of about 40 meters (131 ft).
The basement is expected to be capped by the end of November this year, and the entire center is scheduled to be operational prior to the opening of the 15th China International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition (Airshow China) in November 2024. It will feature an exhibition hall and provide services such as hosting forums and business negotiation activities during Airshow China.

The Zhuhai Civic Service Center just completed the overall lifting operation of the 800-metric-ton long-span steel structure roof at the end of September. The main structures of the project's three towers have been capped and entered the fine-fitment stage.
Total construction is expected to be finished by Dec 31, when one-stop governmental affairs services will be provided for both citizens and enterprises.
Somewhere else in the Hezhou area, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Cross-border Global Central Warehouse recently saw its main structure being capped. Covering an area of 20,000 sq m (5 acres) and a combined floor area of nearly 63,000 sq m (15.6 acres), the warehouse will be composed of two five-story ramp logistics warehouses of about 53,000 sq m (13 acres) and supporting office buildings.
The warehouse is expected to be fully operational by the end of 2023 and will be able to provide full supply chain services for cross-border e-commerce businesses based on the new Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Economic and Trade Channel.
