Yantai's Longkou celebrates farmers' harvest

The county-level city of Longkou in Yantai, East China's Shandong province organized a series of events to celebrate the Chinese Farmers' Harvest Festival on Oct 6.

In recent years, Longkou city has focused on becoming a demonstration city for rural vitalization in Shandong and promoted the development of agriculture and rural areas. In the past five years, the total output value of the entire agricultural industrial chain in Longkou has exceeded 100 billion yuan ($13.7 billion), and more than 5 billion yuan has been invested in rural development. Longkou has been selected as a national demonstration county for rural vitalization and has become a demonstration county for promoting common prosperity at the provincial level.

As a traditional agricultural powerhouse in Longkou, Zhuyouguan town has been promoting the development of a beautiful rural model demonstration area in recent years. The town has so far established seven large-scale agricultural planting bases including apples, grapes, strawberries, and vegetables, with a total area of more than 3,733 hectares. Efforts have also been made to build large-scale agricultural industrial clusters and continuously explore new models for rural vitalization.
