Construction of a plant oil refining and comprehensive deep processing facility started in the Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area (NETDA) in East China's Jiangsu province, on Sept 26.
The facility, which will cost 3 billion yuan ($411.69 million) to build, is expected to produce 1.2 million metric tons of feeding-protein and to process 300,000 tons of vegetable oil per year.
The facility, which was funded by Nantong Yide Industrial Co, a provincial agricultural industry-leading enterprise whose turnover in 2022 amounted to 3 billion yuan, will be put into operation by the end of 2024.
Bao Delin, director of the NETDA administrative committee, noted at the groundbreaking ceremony that authorities will continue efforts to offer better government services to ensure the smooth construction of the facility.
Bao also expressed hope that Yide will make more investments and expand markets to advance the area's high-quality development.
