The X387 train set off from the Xi'an International Port Station in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, on Sept 26, heading for Urumqi, Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region.
This was the first journey of the Xi'an-Urumqi container multi-modal express train.
The train is loaded with 40 containers of automotive parts such as gearboxes, wheels, seat cushions, and mechanical parts.
The new train service will reduce travel time from Xi'an to Urumqi from 40 hours to 38 hours.
Trucks will be sent to factories after the train arrives in Urumqi, achieving end-to-end logistics distribution and providing customers with better and more convenient services.
The multi-modal express train selected for the service is a flatbed train that meets standards for a speed of 120 kilometers per hour, similar to the standard for the China-Europe freight train.
Moving forward, China Railway Xi'an Group Co will actively promote the regular operation of the X387 multi-modal express train and encourage more express e-commerce companies and logistics enterprises to use the transportation service.
