The international conference on the reform and development of vocational education under the "Belt and Road" Initiative took place in Shenyang on Wednesday.
The conference focused on the theme of "Vocational Education Supporting High-Quality Development of the Belt and Road Initiative" and included discussion topics related to vocational education.
During the conference, representatives from academic and industry associations signed the "Shenyang Agreement", aiming to promote the mobility and global recognition of vocational and technical skilled talents.
The "Mozi Workshop" project, a brand representing Liaoning's vocational education "going global" initiative, made its debut at the conference.
The Mozi Workshop will improve the international capacity for vocational education to support industrial cooperation, according to the provincial education department.
Zeng Qingjun, president of Liaoning Railway Vocational and Technical College, highlighted that the Mozi Workshop will train railway drivers and technicians for railway bridge and tunnel projects.
Established in 1948, Liaoning Railway Vocational and Technical College provides vocational skills training services to various countries, including Kenya, Ethiopia, and Thailand.
Representatives from Kyrgyz National Technical University shared their preparations for the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway, emphasizing the need for cooperation with universities and companies in China.
The conference was organized by the Liaoning province education department and co-sponsored by 14 local universities. Over 300 representatives from 18 countries attended the conference, including education administrators, academic and industry associations, universities, and enterprises.
