Photographers claim honors at Pingyao Intl Photography Festival

The 23rd Pingyao International Photography Festival unveiled its awards on Sept 21 in Pingyao county, North China's Shanxi province.

That evening, the organizing committee of the festival presented seven major awards, including the Excellent Photographer Jury Awards, the Curatorial Awards and the Kunpeng Chinese Young Photographer Promotion Awards, with 50 photographers from China and other countries receiving awards.

Among them, works by 15 photographers including Wang Hanbing, Shi Xinde, Robert Ashton, and Ann Noble all won the Excellent Works Award. 

Student photographers such as Shi Ao, Xu Xinhui, Zhang Xin, and Li Xin pocketed the College Excellence Award. 

The Kunpeng Chinese Young Photographer Promotion Awards provide key support for the next generation of photographers. At this year's festival, 11 were handed out. 

This year's festival showcased more than 13,961 works by over 2,000 photographers, including 1,627 works by 225 people from 27 countries.
