Austria-based faigle Group opened a new factory for its subsidiary Suzhou faigle Engineering Plastics Co in Suzhou New District, East China's Jiangsu province, on Sept 21.
The newly-launched factory is equipped with the most advanced production lines as well as operation and R&D facilities to further enhance the Suzhou subsidiary's capabilities in scientific research and innovation.
Set up in Austria in 1947, the faigle Group specializes in manufacturing, processing and trading in engineering plastics and plastics solutions. In 2003, it opened a subsidiary in the SND, which provides 70 percent of the world's heavy-duty escalators with injection rollers.

Christian Fuchssteiner, commercial consul at the Austrian consulate in Shanghai, noted that the SND has attracted increasingly more Austrian enterprises to start businesses and that he is confident about faigle's development in the district.
Wolfgang Faigle, COO of faigle Group, thanked the SND for its support, saying that the group has always treated the SND as its important growth point and plans to deploy its largest R&D and test center and more high-quality projects in the district.
Zhang Ying from the SND management committee congratulated faigle Group on the opening of the new factory and he expressed hope that Suzhou faigle will continue increasing investment in innovation and R&D and develop more products and technologies.
The SND has been home to nearly 2,000 foreign-invested businesses to date, including 80 foreign-invested headquarters and functional institutions, turning it into a hotspot for investment.
