Entrepreneurs convention kicks off in Guangzhou

The 2023 World Guangdong Entrepreneurs Convention kicked off in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, on Friday, aiming to build an exchange and cooperation platform to connect with entrepreneurs and business representatives from around the world.

Xu Lejiang, vice-minister of the United Front Work Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Party chief and executive vice-chairman of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, said Guangdong entrepreneurs and business people are a very important group in the Chinese business community and a valuable asset in promoting Guangdong's economic development.

He urged Guangdong entrepreneurs and business representatives to actively participate in the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, which offers myriad investment and business opportunities for business people around the world.

In addition to keynote speeches from senior officials, experts and business executives, the event also includes a main forum and sub-forums for business representatives to expand exchanges and cooperation and absorb wisdom for the high-quality development of Guangdong province.

Narongsak Putthapornmongkol, president of the Thai-Chinese Chamber of Commerce, said the rapid development of the motherland provides many opportunities for Guangdong entrepreneurs and business representatives.

He said he would unite with overseas Chinese business people to build a bridge of exchange and cooperation between Thailand and Guangdong and encourage more business people to participate in the high-quality development of Guangdong in the coming months.

Guangdong and the GBA has a first-class, market-oriented business environment that is highly attractive to overseas Chinese business representatives, he said.

Hundreds of government officials, experts, scholars and senior business executives from around the world will exchange views and discuss the expansion of exchanges and cooperations and participation in the high-quality development of the GBA.
