Jinan establishes relations with 86 cities worldwide

Jinan has over the past four decades established friendly relations with 86 cities in 47 countries, Liu Ruiling, director of the foreign affairs office of Jinan, announced at a news conference held by the Shandong Provincial People's Government on Sept 19.

Specifically, Jinan has established sister-city relationships with 29 cities in 26 countries, and friendly cooperative city relationships with 57 cities in 32 countries.

This year, Jinan has leveraged high-level delegations and large-scale foreign affairs activities to establish new friendly cooperative relationships with Erd, Hungary, and Rostov-on-Don, Russia. Jinan has also reached out to cities such as Hanover, Germany, and Langenthal, Switzerland for the first time.

Jinan's efforts in expanding its network of friends have contributed to the high-quality development of the provincial capital, attracting foreign investment and projects to Jinan and assisting Jinan companies to expand overseas.

Jinan has also held various folk communication activities such as an international youth talent competition, a sports carnival, and boys' choir performance to deepen people's exchanges and communication with international cities.
