On the evening of Sept 17, Dongfeng Motor announced the delivery of its M-Hero 917 production model on the foot of Mingsha Mountain in Dunhuang, Gansu province.
The M-Hero is a new luxury electric off-road vehicle brand created by Dongfeng last year, and its core R&D center and manufacturing base are all based in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) in Wuhan, Central China's Hubei province.
Dongfeng has also established factories for Dongfeng Honda, VOYAH, and Dongfeng Nissan in the zone.

The M-Hero Industrial park broke ground in February last year and began operating in less than 14 months. It features smart manufacturing, high-end customized services, off-road experience and sustainability. The park allows the M-Hero 917 to be churned out on a large scale.
The new production model debuted in Shanghai in April and entered the market in August at the Chengdu auto show, filling a void in Chinese luxury electric SUVs and benchmarking the GMC Hummer EV truck.
Cao Dongjie, CEO of Dongfeng Mengshi Tech, believes that the M-Hero 917 also boasts outstanding performance in emergency rescue, forest fire prevention and control, geological prospecting, engineering and construction.
