Maoming stole the spotlight at the Guangdong International Tourism Industry Expo, which opened in Guangzhou on Sept 15.
Maoming fully showcased its status as the capital of Chinese mooncakes. Over 20 local pastry companies from Maoming participated in the expo.
In addition, its puppetry show, which is an intangible cultural heritage item, also attracted a large crowd. Zhu Mengchao, an inheritor from Gaozhou, skillfully manipulated the puppets with his fingertips, demonstrating graceful movements.

In the cultural and tourism resource display area, Maoming launched 10 top-quality tourist routes. In the intangible cultural heritage display area, freshly-made cultural cuisine made people's mouths water. Additionally, Maoming concentrated on highlighting its rural vitilization efforts at the Baiqiao lecture hall exhibition area and the Wutiaoxu exhibition area.
Maoming also held a nationwide joint promotion activity with thousands of travel agencies, sharing its cultural resources, scenic routes, and cuisine to enhance its visibility and influence.
