Chinese bronze crafting originated in the upper reaches of the Yellow River around 5,000 years ago. As a carrier of ritual significance and a symbol of political power, bronze ware has contributed to the unique Chinese civilization that centered on rites and music.
On Sept 16, an exhibition illustrating the bronze ware history of the Yellow River basin was unveiled at the Shanxi Museum. A total of 160 pieces, and sets of bronze ware selected from 30 museums across China, shed light on the splendid Bronze Age in the region, highlighting its precious cultural legacy. The exhibition runs to Dec 17.
