A trilingual website tailored for information about freight train services between China and Europe was launched on Friday, aiming to provide authoritative information and hands-on business services to domestic and foreign customers, according to China State Railway Group, which oversees the service.

The website offers three language options, Chinese, English and Russian.

Agents can file, arrange and complete a service on the website, including filing applications, signing transport contracts, handling domestic and international business, picking up and returning containers, and declaring customs inspection.

According to the company, the website is designed to improve the service quality in order to enhance customers experiences.

The website also provides information about the service, including policies, the latest news and statistics, to provide a decision-making reference for foreign trade companies.

It has 24 hour multi-lane customer service to meet customers' needs.

It also has launched tailored services, including all journey insurance and an information tracking system.

According to the company, the website will continue to optimize and improve its functions to improve user experience based on customers' suggestions from China and abroad.

In March 2011, a rail freight train left Chongqing through Central Asia to Europe and ushered in a new era for rail-bound freight as an alternative to shipping by sea or air.

Fueled by the rollout of the Belt and Road Initiative, the China-Europe Railway Express service has boosted connectivity between China and Europe and the rest of the world. In addition to offering freight transport solutions, it contributes to the flows of global investment, resources, technology and skilled personnel, and facilitates global cross-sector collaboration.

In the past decade, 77,000 China-Europe freight trains have been operated carrying 7.31 million containers of goods, with a total estimated value exceeding $340 billion.

The transportation network of the China-Europe train services has connected 217 cities in 25 European countries.
