A cyber security promotional event was launched on Sept 11 in Yantai's Laishan district, East China's Shandong province, part of the city's efforts to put more emphasis on safeguarding cyber security.
Lyv Bo, head of Yantai's publicity department, said that through the event, the city aims to further publicize cyber security laws, regulations, knowledge and skills, as well as continuously improve cyber security awareness among residents.
Wang Hongqing, director of the city's cyberspace administration, said the city plans to establish and improve systems and mechanisms for cyber security, data security, and personal information protection. It will strengthen coordination and cooperation with the departments of public security, industry and information technology, big data, national security, and others. In addition, it will carry out measures in cyber security asset investigations, regulatory inspections, emergency drills, supervision and rectification.
Liu Zhaotan, deputy head of Laishan district, said the district will accelerate the construction of electronic information and artificial intelligence industrial parks and strengthen the research and application of key technologies such as 5G, cloud computing, internet of things (IoT), and industrial internet. Moreover, it will work to improve the network technology industrial system and promote the introduction, cultivation and training of talent. It will also work to attract more high-quality projects and companies, strive to build a complete network security industry ecological chain, and contribute more to Yantai's cyber security.
During the launching ceremony, 20 cyber security companies showcased their latest techniques, applications and products on site to teach people about cyber security protection.
