Only two things remain eternally immutable:

The Sun, the Moon and the stars in the sky

And dreams of space exploration in people’s minds

The rising moon over East Lake, Wuhan

An asteroid was discovered by mankind

on October 9, 1964.

Then

it was named the “Hubei Asteroid”

and given asteroid number 2547.

More and more stories connecting Hubei and space

have appeared since then.

Asteroid 41981

was named “Yaobeina”

after a late Chinese female singer.

Asteroid 34714

was named “Zhanghao”

after the professor at China University (Wuhan) who discovered it.

Asteroid 2021 GB68

was named after a boy,

a Grade 3 student of a senior school in Wuhan,

and is now known as Xiong Jiarui.

In additional to looking up at the starry sky,

Hubei people long to “reach a star or the Moon”

and astral travel.

Nothing can be more romantic than this.

The Kuaizhou rockets made in Hubei

are frequently launched

Nie Haisheng, an astronaut from Hubei,

has gone into space three times.

China’s planet exploration mission

was named “Tianwen”,

which was taken from Chu State Poet Qu Yuan’s long poem Tianwen.

Then,

love letters of Hubei people

carrying the hopes of mankind

are sent to remote stars.

Special love

is especially for you.

As the Yangtze River

constantly flows,

love letters of Hubei people

will be constantly written.

Hubei is not far

and I look forward to our meeting.
