Hohhot – capital of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region – was awarded the title of Hot Spot for Investment in China at the 23rd China International Fair for Investment and Trade, or CIFIT, held in Xiamen city, in East China's Fujian province on Sept 8-11.
Organized by the Ministry of Commerce of China, CIFIT is one of the most influential international investment events worldwide. This year's fair was attended by nearly 100 countries and regions, with the participation of around 1,000 business delegations and about 80,000 exhibitors.
The Hot Spot for Investment in China program is part of the Investment China Year series of activities staged by the Ministry of Commerce. It aims to promote and showcase the branding, development potential, and investment opportunities of 18 cities selected as investment hotspots.
During the fair, Hohhot set up a 90-square-meter exhibition area in the expo's investment hotspot city zone, showcasing its achievements in economic and social development, the investment environment, industrial resources and potential for growth.
The latest recognition is widely said to not only highlight Hohhot's appeal as an investment destination, but also provide a platform for the city to display its strengths and attract domestic and international investors.
Plans are for Hohhot to further enhance its brand image and seize more investment opportunities to boost its economic growth and development.
With the prestigious investment hotspot recognition, Hohhot is expected to become a thriving hub for investment, fostering economic prosperity in the region.
