Yiyuanhong apple, a local specialty from Yiyuan county, Zibo city in East China's Shandong province, proved to be a hit among visitors at the MIMS Automobility Moscow in Krasnopresnenskaya in Moscow, Russia on Sept 3.
Yiyuanhong apples are known to be especially crispy and juicy, and have been served at international events such as the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics and the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai.
This variety was first grown in Xili town in Zibo in 1994 before it was approved as a new type of apple in 2013.
Zibo has in recent years been driving the development of digital agriculture by investing more into information technology.
The city said it will support more local companies to promote their high-quality farm produce abroad and help expand the global presence of Zibo's agricultural culture.
