An outdoor concert by the Xi'an Symphony Orchestra took place on Sept 10, near the city's Big Wild Goose Pagoda, a famous Buddhist pagoda built during the Tang Dynasty (618-907).
Conducted by Lyu Jia, the orchestra performed pieces, including Ode to the Red Flag by Lyu Qiming, the Carmen Ouverture by Georges Bizet and Di Madride noi siam mattadori from Verdi's opera La Traviata.
Celebrated guest pianist Lang Lang and his pianist wife, Gina Alice, performed Le Carnaval des animaux by Charles Camille Saint-Saens, and an adaptation of the classic Chinese song, Me and My Motherland.
The concert also featured the Xi'an Symphony Orchestra Chorus and the Xi'an Concert Hall Children's Choir.
It has been 11 years since the launch of the annual outdoor concert, and the event attracts local audiences and tourists.
The concert was also streamed online, and received over 13.6 million views.
