This jade piece depicts a lifelike human face, with eyes slanting in an inverted Chinese figure-eight shape, a broad nose, and a square mouth slightly closed, exuding an aura of dignity and mystery.
Excavated from the Shijiahe Culture site in Tianmen, Hubei province, the jade figurine reflects the unique features of Shijiahe jade culture in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River, from 4,000 years ago. It is one of the ten museum treasures in the permanent collection of the Hubei Provincial Museum.
