The five-story SkyPier Transit Center, adjacent to the SkyPier Ferry Terminal at Hong Kong International Airport, will begin trial operations on Aug 30.
Transit passengers from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area can check in their luggage and obtain boarding passes at the airline counters at the Macao or Zhuhai checkpoints and then take a dedicated shuttle bus to the SkyPier Transit Center via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB) without going through Hong Kong's immigration procedures.

After disembarking at the SkyPier Transit Center, transit passengers can take the MTR system to the boarding gates for departure flights. This will significantly improve customs clearance efficiency. Their checked luggage will be directly transferred to their overseas destinations from the Macao or Zhuhai ports.
Overseas passengers can also utilize services at the SkyPier Transit Center to travel from Hong Kong to Macao or Zhuhai via the HZMB.
Previously, passengers had to complete check-in, luggage drop-off, and customs clearance procedures in advance at any of the nine ports in the Greater Bay Area (Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Dongguan, Zhongshan, Zhuhai, and Macao).
The SkyPier Transit Center will give passengers another convenient transit option, while also helping Hong Kong airport further expand its service coverage in the western part of the Greater Bay Area.
The shuttle bus service between the SkyPier Transit Center and the Macao Port via the HZMB has been in operation since Aug 30. The service between the SkyPier Transit Center and the Zhuhai Port will be launched in the next phase.
In late 2022, the Zhuhai Transport Bureau made it clear that it would implement its "air + road + air" international transit project via the HZMB in 2023. This promotes the coordinated development of local airports and the formation of a world-class airport cluster in the Greater Bay Area.
Moreover, Zhuhai will deepen its cooperation with Hong Kong and Macao in aviation logistics, actively engage with the relevant airport authorities in Hong Kong and Macao, and promote cargo cooperation between Zhuhai, Hong Kong, and Macao airports.
