Kunpeng industrial chain in Wuhan hits 10b yuan output target

The Kunpeng industrial chain of processors and other hardware in Wuhan city is about to break through the 10-billion-yuan ($1.37 billion) mark in annual output value, according to the Wuhan Kunpeng Industrial Development White Paper that was released recently.

Approximately 70 percent of Kunpeng's ecosystem partners in Wuhan are located in the East Lake High-tech Development Zone (Optics Valley of China).

On April 30, 2020, the Wuhan government signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Huawei to boost the city's Kunpeng industry.

On Sept 1, 2020, the Yangtze River Kunpeng Ecological Innovation Center, jointly funded by Wuhan Industrial Investment Holdings Group and Huawei, was put into use.

In less than two years, the center has entered the leading group among the 20 Kunpeng ecological regional innovation centers nationwide, making Wuhan an important base for Huawei's computing industrial layout and development.

According to the white paper, the total output value of Wuhan's Kunpeng industry in 2022 is estimated to be between 7.88 and 9.57 billion yuan, approaching the 10-billion-yuan mark.

At the same time, Wuhan has built a nearly complete Kunpeng industrial chain, with about 70 percent of downstream applications located in Optics Valley.

The Kunpeng industry in Wuhan has shown significant driving effects, with the Yangtze River Kunpeng Ecological Innovation Center assisting in doubling the computing capacity and attracting seven companies in Wuhan to settle there.

This has facilitated the implementation of 51 commercial projects, generating an additional revenue of 2 billion yuan for enterprises.

It has also played a crucial role in promoting core digital economy industries, steadily building a 10-billion-yuan-level industrial ecosystem.
