The self-driving camping site in the Ejine Desert Poplar Forest in Alshaa League, North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, has been upgraded to a national 5C-level campsite, announced on Sept 2 at the 2023 China (Arxan) Tourism Conference.
The self-drive camping site covers an area of 230 mu (15.3 hectares). It offers a premium RV experience, combining self-drive services with sightseeing in the famous forest – one of the three remaining Populus euphratica forest reserves in the world.

The campsite features various experiential service areas, including separate self-drive camping zones, caravan accommodation zones, wooden villas, outdoor entertainment zones, and children's play areas. These areas cater to the needs of self-drive enthusiasts and tourists, providing services such as outdoor barbecues, unique camping experiences, and recreational activities for relaxation.
The campsite has undergone significant improvements, achieving a 5C-level rating to cater to the discerning needs of tourists keen on exploring the breathtaking Alshaa.
