Express company facilitates logistics

After being inspected at the customs' supervision center located in Heilongjiang Yili Express Co Ltd in Jixi city, Heilongjiang province, numerous packages will be sorted and arrive in Russia via the Mishan port after only two days' transportation. 

Founded in 2019, Yili has developed into a full-chain foreign trade business enterprise involved in business of e-commerce, logistics and customs clearance in Jixi.

Over the first seven months of 2023, the company had declared 2.934 million orders of international express packages, with the total weight of 3,738 metric tons, according to the company.

It achieved the trade volume of 816 million yuan ($112.3 million), increased by 100 percent compared with the same period last year.

"The nearest port, Mishan, is 110 kilometers away," said the company's general manager Zhao Ligang. "In the past, the goods had to be transported to the port for customs inspection and during the process, the goods needed to be unloaded."

"With the support from local government, the Harbin Customs set the port customs inspection business in our company at the same time of its establishment," he said. "With the inspection equipment and customs inspectors settled in the company, we can receive door-to-door service and the goods can start their outbound trip directly after being inspected and sealed, which greatly helps us save lots of times."

"We set staff members on 24-hour duty to ensure fluent customs clearance," said Wang Bo, a custom official. "We also witnessed the rapid development of the company."

"In the first several months the company official operated its business in 2020, it only transported 290 cross-border packages," she said. "The number reached to nearly 1 million in 2021 and nearly 3 million in the first seven months in this year."

To meet the needs of cross-border express business, the company independently developed their own order management system and transportation management system, which can realize data management of the whole business and improve the accuracy of order processing, as well as meet the needs of customers to query the information and status of goods at any time. 

With the increase of orders, the company invested more than 500,000 yuan to purchase intelligent sorting equipment, which can save lots of labor force.

"We will continue to increase investment in digital technology and smart equipment to well serve our customers at home and abroad," said Zhao. "We also hope to contribute more wisdom to the high-quality development of cross-border e-commerce export express industry."
