BAIC BluePark said on Thursday that its operating revenue in the first half this year surged 65.85 percent year-on-year to hit 5.77 billion yuan ($794.2 million).

The rise in revenue was mainly the result of its growing sales, said the Shanghai-listed carmaker.

From January to June, BAIC BluePark sold 35,191 vehicles, up almost 107 percent from the same period last year.

The carmaker has introduced scenario-based models to meet the growing demand of different customers in China.

It started presales of the Arcfox Kaola, an electric vehicle that provides comprehensive solutions for traveling with infants, last week at the Chengdu Motor Show.

Late last month, BAIC BluePark inked a deal with Chinese technology giant Huawei to deepen their collaboration that started in 2017.

The first model out of their latest cooperation, a smart electric sedan, will come out in 2024, said the carmaker.

The National Information Center estimates that the mid-large sedans are getting increasingly popular, with their volume expected to reach 900,000 units in 2024.

BAIC BluePark is beefing up its charging network. It had built 29 super-charging stations by the end of June. And its car owners have access to over 540,000 public charging piles in the country as well.
