Crested hornbill mother and her chick leave their nest in Yunnan

In the Hongbeng River area of Yunnan's Tongbiguan Provincial Nature Reserve, renowned as "China's Hornbill Valley", volunteers captured precious footage of a mother crested hornbill and her chick as they left their nest on Aug 26. This marks the first time such imagery has been documented in the wild in China. The adorable baby hornbill, with its blue eyes, timidly peeked its head out of the nest to curiously observe the outside world. [Video by Yi Yihu, Zhu Bianyong & He Haiyan]
