More than 80 percent of companies in the Zhuozhou High-Tech Industrial Development Zone in Hebei province have resumed production as supporting measures were rolled out by the local government to assist enterprises in getting back to normal after serious flooding.
Many places in Zhuozhou were flooded after heavy rainfall at the end of July, including the high-tech development zone, with more than 450 companies, according to the government. Among them, about 290 were affected by the flood to varying degrees.
"After the flood receded, we immediately organized employees to clean up all the sewage and mud in the workshop and resumed production within a week," Liu Xiaoming, general manager of Zhuozhou Kelin Electronic Products Co, was quoted as saying in Baoding Daily.
"The government sent teams to learn of our situation and then helped us with water and electricity resources, which was a great help and support to us," Liu said.
Liu's company also received an instant loan from a local bank as the capital to help it recover, he added.
