The Heavenly King, dating back to the 6th century and carved out of stone, is depicted clad in armor. He is wearing a high collar to protect his neck, with a garment draped over his shoulders and tied in front of his chest. With a well-rounded appearance and a kind but dignified expression, it resembles a real-life warrior.
Excavated from the Wanfo Temple site in Chengdu, Sichuan province, the Heavenly King statue is now housed in the National Museum of China.
