Sino-South Korean joint venture Beijing Hyundai is showcasing the all-new Elantra, the all-new Elantra N Line sports sedan and a high-end custom Mufasa SUV at the ongoing Chengdu motor show.
After seven generations and achieving global deliveries of nearly 15 million units, the all-new Elantra was launched at the motor show with starting price of 99,800 yuan ($13,684).
Based on the advanced i-GMP third-generation platform, the sedan is equipped with a 1.5-liter multipoint injection engine paired with a continuously variable transmission.
Its combined fuel consumption is as low as 5.36 liters per 100 kilometers under worldwide harmonized light vehicles test cycle conditions.
The vehicle incorporates more than 20 new user-friendly configuration upgrades, including an intelligent health-enhancing fresh air-conditioning system, and features 24 advanced intelligent driving assistance functions, such as multi-collision braking.
As the first product of Beijing Hyundai in 2023, the Mufasa has received a hot response since its launch in June, with orders exceeding 10,000 units.
The automaker launched six customized variants of the SUV at the Chengdu event.
Apart from featuring up to 24 intelligent driving assistance functions, the new Mufasa customized editions offer personalized enhancements for users, including a black roof luggage rack and sporty black alloy wheels.
Backed by technological expertise from Hyundai and BAIC Group, the joint venture has charted its course, it said at the motor show.
The two parents have reached strategic agreements over the past year, encompassing global technology localization, partnerships with Chinese information and communication technology firms and domestic product exports, aligning with China's market dynamics.
