Children from Xusanli village have received calligraphy training since mid August. The program was organized by local authorities to carry forward traditional Chinese culture and enrich the summer life of children in the village, Guanxian county, Liaocheng city, Shandong province.
Calligraphy teachers have been arranged to help the children with writing calligraphy and explain the culture in the art form.
"This calligraphy training allowed children to experience the beauty of the structure and form of Chinese characters, enhanced their proficiency in writing," says Wang Qiang, a local parent.
"It also helped them cultivate good handwriting habits and skills, fostering an interest in calligraphy," Wang says, adding that he hoped more sessions can be staged in the future.
Wang Wenpeng, a local official behind the calligraphy training, says more training activities revolving around traditional Chinese culture will be held in the future to help local young people appreciate its charm.
