The contributions of Chinese doctors who have provided free treatment and dealt with difficult diseases in Benin are appreciated by the local people, who celebrated China's Medical Workers' Day recently in the African country.
China sent its first medical workers to Benin in 1978, and over the last 45 years their selfless spirit and kindness in sharing medical knowledge and skills have been admired by the Benin government and its people, said Tossou Pacome, president of the Mono-Couffo Departmental Hospital Center. The many donations promoted health development and improved conditions at hospitals, Pacome said.
