Taizhou city institute, Nanjing university work together

The municipal government of Taizhou city – located in East China's Jiangsu province – on Aug 23 partnered with Nanjing Agricultural University, located in Nanjing city in Jiangsu, for a new round of potentially lucrative cooperation.

The two will launch a high-level talent workstation in Taizhou at the Taizhou Research Institute.

Since its establishment in 2018, the Taizhou Research Institute – an effort between the city and Nanjing Agricultural University – has steadily intensified collaborative initiatives.

Leveraging Nanjing Agricultural University's robust resources in research and education, the Taizhou institute has dedicated itself to local development.

With 37 agricultural technology projects at provincial and municipal levels – including significant contributions made to intelligent agricultural machinery in Jiangsu province – the institute has secured over 30 national patents, software copyrights and formulated local standards.

Furthermore, it has set up 10 exemplary scientific bases for green and efficient agriculture – covering crops like rice, wheat, fruit, vegetables, aquaculture and ecological farming.

Initiatives like the "Taizhou Agricultural Organic Waste Resource Utilization Industry Alliance" have also proven successful – strengthening ties between academia and industry, addressing agricultural industry challenges and transforming advanced technologies into practical and commercial solutions.

Taizhou Deputy Mayor Zhou Xiaohui said the city was steadfast in deepening cooperation with Nanjing Agricultural University, pooling resources, fostering innovation and fully supporting the growth of the Taizhou Research Institute.

Moreover, the city was committed to offering comprehensive support – encompassing policies, funding, projects and infrastructure – to promote the progress of the collaboration between academic institutions and local authorities.
