The place was called Hubei
because of water.
The confessions were gentle and graceful
because of water.
The Hubei section of the Yangtze River
is 1,061 km long.
And it has long developed feelings for the people.
Among all the provinces that flows through in China,
Hubei is the place where it “flows for the longest time”,
“flows slowest” and changes greatly —
the turbulent river becomes as calm as lakes,
the narrow river becomes much wider
and the rough river becomes gentle.
Reflecting a pursuit,
the Hanjiang River
flows from west to east and
constantly runs toward the Yangtze River.
After it undergoes thousands of twists and turns,
it seizes a good opportunity in Wuhan at last
and joins the Yangtze River.
East Lake
reflects inclusiveness.
It almost “shares” an international metropolis with the land.
People who live here
never complain of its “arrogance”.
The urban streets and roads
turn around for it
or encircle it.
