The 8th China (Harbin) International Western Food Culture Festival is set to open on the morning of Aug 24, bringing another gastronomic bonanza to the city this summer.
It will cover a variety of activities such as international gourmet food exhibitions, displays of traditional food, cold water fish exhibitions, and the China-Russia culinary competition, offering rich content and numerous highlights.
This year's Western food festival will invite representatives and chefs from several countries including Russia, France, Italy, and Germany for culinary exchanges in Harbin.
During the festival, the 9th National Hotel Industry Vocational Skills Competition Western Cooking Final and the CHA Chinese Cooking Championship will also be held.
As an important part of the event, Qunli Yintai Plaza and Haxi Wanda Plaza will host the first Chinese Barbecue and Russian-flavored Barbecue Food Festival, presenting a fusion of Russian and Chinese delicacies, adding to the summer carnival atmosphere.
Moreover, the Harbin government, in collaboration with the food delivery platforms Eleme and Meituan, will contribute more than 6 million yuan ($855,920.11) to help organize online and offline discount promotions in the main urban area, allowing the general public to enjoy greater benefits when dining out, fully stimulating consumer enthusiasm, and creating a new wave of consumption.
