Zhangye City has rich tourism resources, advantageous location, and good exhibition infrastructure, which are superior conditions for the development of exhibition economy.

Efforts have been made in the exhibition infrastructure improvement, restart of exhibitions, forums, competitions that have already formed brand influence, attraction of large-scale and influential exhibition activities involved by international brands, industry leaders, and top enterprises, and cultivation of new economic formats and new brands. Zhangye city also strives to promote the integration and mutual development of exhibition economy and ecological industry, all-for-one tourism, modern agriculture, and digital economy, and to improve the modern service industry for the high-quality development of the exhibition economy.

The city will construct high-standard exhibition venues, improve sports facilities and exhibition service facilities, and optimize traffic conditions. It will restart to hold the Zhangye Fair, the Oasis Forum in Zhangye, the general aviation conference in Zhangye, and the sports events. It will also build the commodity exhibition area for various countries, develop a gathering place for conference industry, and attract market players in the exhibition industry. In addition, Zhangye will cultivate industry summits and summit forums, educational practice bases, sports events, folk festivals, and local characteristic cultural activities, and it will train professional exhibition talents and develop new international exhibition forms.

By the end of 2024, Zhangye City will strive to become one of the gathering places for national academic conferences, business conferences, professional conferences, trainings, and international conferences. The city's convention and exhibition industry will drive at least 1.5 billion yuan of consumption in the sectors such as accommodation, catering, tourism, shopping, transportation, logistics, exhibition engineering, printing, and advertising. The total amount of on-site goods, investment, and technology trade at exhibitions will exceed 10 billion yuan.
