Yangguan, built during the Western Han Dynasty, is the earliest customs center in China. Located 70 kilometers southwest of Dunhuang city in Gansu province, it served as a significant passageway along the Silk Road and a cultural bridge between East and West. Yangguan Scenic Area, a national 4A-level tourist attraction, showcases the grandeur of the Han and Tang dynasties.

The scenic area preserves various relics from the Han Dynasty, such as the Yangguan ruins, towers of beacon and ancient roads. The Yangguan Museum, the largest scenic museum in northwest China, houses a rich collection of cultural relics that illustrate the prosperity of Dunhuang and Yangguan. Bronze horses, chariots, weapons, and  bamboo slips from the Hany dynasty capture the essence of Yangguan.

Visitors to Yangguan Scenic Area can explore ancient relics, visit exhibitions, enjoy panoramic views from a height, and engage in a range of activities like practicing archery, leaving inscriptions on stone tablets, and strolling along Yangguan Road. They can also cross suspension bridges, explore the desert, and savor local rural cuisine. Come and experience the brilliance of the Han and Tang dynasties, appreciate the natural landscapes, and immerse yourself in local customs and nature at Yangguan!
