The West Han Dynasty Jiuquan Park, originally known as Jiuquan Park, is located in Jiuquan, Gansu province. It is the only well-preserved Han Dynasty garden in the Hexi region.
The park is situated 1.9 kilometers east of Jiuquan`s Suzhou district and covers an area of 270,000 square meters, with a natural lake spanning 50,000 square meters.
Drawing inspiration from the historical facts of the Western Han Dynasty, it is a classical garden that showcases the grandeur of the Han Dynasty and incorporates the beauty of the the area of Jiangnan (the south of the Yangtze River).
The scenic area is divided into three main areas: the historical and cultural area, the mountain and lake scenery area, and the leisure and entertainment area. The park has ancient buildings, including springs, lakes, pavilions, steles, and corridors, and serves as the core and carrier of Jiuquan's local culture.
The park is devoted to highlighting the prosperous history of the Western Han Dynasty and its associated Han culture, thus showcasing the historical and cultural significance of Jiuquan, and its connection to the Silk Road.
