Wang Yue, a young teacher from Ningbo Binhai International Cooperative School, participated in the 28th Youth Assembly at the United Nations and Global Educators Workshop held in New York, the United States since August 11 local time as a recipient of a partial scholarship offered by the event.
Themed "breakthrough to a better future", this year's Youth Assembly attracted young leaders and educators from over 100 countries and aimed to provide a platform for them to engage in friendly exchanges. Delegates engaged in activities such as speeches, forums, and dialogues with a focus on the challenges and solutions related to global issues such as climate change, urbanization, education, and employment.
During the subgroup discussions at the Global Educators Workshop, Wang, who is currently the deputy director of the international department at her school, shared how the school integrates international education with local education through innovative approaches and fosters students' awareness of sustainable development and global citizenship through project-based learning and interdisciplinary courses.
"In shaping the future of sustainable development, education plays a pivotal role," said Wang. "In recent years, our school has been actively localizing international education. By expanding educational resources and participating in international exchanges and collaborations, we are creating a high-quality and diverse curriculum for students."
