In a bid to attract tourists and showcase its vibrant music scene, Shenzhen in Guangdong province will soon unveil its electronic music bus.
Yang Jialun, director of the business department of Shenzhen Bus Group, said on Monday that the project aims to provide tourists with a mobile musical experience and a one-of-a-kind journey through the city's pulsating beats and rhythms.
On Friday, the bus made a test tour from Huanle Harbor, the busiest street of Bao'an district, through key areas of Bao'an, giving passengers a unique way to explore the city's musical landscape.
Fifty reporters, key internet opinion leaders and electronic music professionals participated.
Designed using Shenzhen local landscape elements, including Phoenix Mountain and Qingping Ancient ruins, the electronic music bus uses fluorescent green and pink to catch the eye. It is equipped with state-of-the-art sound systems, LED lights and touchscreens that allow passengers to interact with the music.
"Shenzhen is renowned for its innovative spirit, and we wanted to create an immersive experience that combines our city's love for technology with its vibrant electronic music scene," Yang said.
