Presented by the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra and Kunqu artist Zhang Jun from the Chinese mainland, and directed by Lee Hsiao-Pin from Taiwan, The Palace of Eternal Life on a Moonlit Night -- a tripartite concert co-production -- is scheduled to hit the stage in September. The concert is a fusion of Kunqu and Chinese orchestra music, accompanied by innovative stage designs, storytelling techniques and presentation of Kunqu Opera.
In an interview with China Daily Hong Kong, both Lee Hsiao-Pin and Zhang Jun highlighted the fact that the collaboration allows them to complement each other's artistic strengths. They expressed the belief that such partnership enables traditional artists to collectively contribute to the preservation and dissemination of Chinese traditional culture.
