A China-Europe freight train recently departed from the railway station at Yantai Port, marking the 350th China-Europe freight trip since the service was launched by Yantai Port in 2019.
Since its opening, China-Europe freight train services have offered a secure and reliable export channel from Yantai and Shandong to Eurasia via countries and regions involved in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
It helped increase train capacity, and strengthened land port construction to meet robust cross-border transport demands. The China-Europe freight train services have also promoted the economic and social development of BRI countries.
Local authorities said that Yantai Port has strengthened its cooperation with railway departments from different regions involved in the BRI, improving transport capacity and service quality to promote the high-quality development of the freight service. It aims to build Yantai into an important node city along the international logistics channel to Eurasia.
Yantai Port is an important international transit hub for commercial vehicles in China, and has attracted numerous shipping companies to launch new ro-ro shipping routes to seek growth opportunities.
