Two projects by enterprises in the China (Shandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone Qingdao Area (Qingdao FTZ) recently won awards at the 2023 National BIM (Building Information Modeling) Competition, which aims to promote the application of BIM technology in China.
The project "Comprehensive Application of BIM Technology in Design and Construction of Qingdao Shipping Trade Financial Integration Innovation Base" by Qingdao Haichen Park Development and Construction Co Ltd received the second prize in the comprehensive group.
The construction of Haichen Park is currently in full swing in Qingdao. The project is expected to become an industrial park focused on the integrated development of the shipping trade and finance in Northeast Asia.
The second winning project, named "Digital Intelligent Construction Application Based on BIM Technology in Qingdao Haichen Park," came from Sino-German United Group Co Ltd. It won the second prize in the construction group.
These awards showcase the effectiveness and innovation of BIM technology in the development and construction of the Qingdao Shipping Trade Financial Integration Innovation Base (Haichen Park).
The competition received 2,559 submissions from all over China, with 293 qualifying for the final stage.
The Qingdao FTZ has been committed to adopting advanced digital tools in the construction industry. In the process of building the shipping trade finance innovation base, advanced technologies and platforms are being utilized to facilitate smarter operations and support data-driven decision making. The park is expected to integrate with smart industries, smart properties, and smart transportation and provide essential data and infrastructure support for smart operations.
