A signing ceremony for the cross-border industrial complex project of JD.com, a Chinese e-commerce giant, was held in the Wuxi National Hi-Tech District, also known as Wuxi New District, on July 28.
The project will establish a comprehensive onsite experience center and a warehousing and logistics system. It primarily focuses on supply chain operations related to JD International's import business and customs operations for special industrial consumer goods. Once completed, imported commodities on JD international will be distributed to regions across the country from the WND.
Zhang Jinwei, head of the WND, said that JD International is a globally-renowned cross-border e-commerce platform covering more than 70 countries and regions worldwide. He expressed his hope that the company's advanced supply chain and logistics services would further enhance cooperation between the company and the district.
As a national demonstration zone for import promotion, the WND has in recent years been actively enhancing the infrastructure for cross-border e-commerce and attracting and fostering leading enterprises in the sector, Zhang added.
