OVC releases bilingual legal tips for expats

The bilingual legal tips for expatriates living in the East Lake High-tech Development Zone (also known as Optics Valley of China, or OVC), were officially issued by the valley's government on July 27 to serve as a reference for international talent wishing to work, start businesses, or live in the valley.

The tips provide information about laws, regulations, specific procedures for business registration and operation, labor relations, renting houses, marriage and more.

This is the first time the valley has published a bilingual version (Chinese and English) of legal tips. The tips are divided into five volumes and are practical, professional, and clear, enabling expats and overseas returnees to find information on legal issues most relevant to their work and lives.

Special regulations for foreigners are also specified and explained in a detailed manner.
