Audiences relish interactive scenes from classic

Unique Dream of Red Mansion recently premiered in a theatrical park in Langfang, Hebei province.

Based on the literary masterpiece Dream of the Red Chamber, the interactive show invites audiences to walk around the park’s indoor theaters to observe performers closely and watch classic scenes from the book.

It’s the latest work of director Wang Chaoge, who co-directed Impression Liu Sanjie with Zhang Yimou and Fan Yue in 2003, and produced Encore Pingyao in 2013. Her productions are among China’s most popular tourist shows.

Langfang city’s authorities aim to improve the local tourism industry via the appeal of Unique Dream of Red Mansion, attracting visitors from the neighboring Beijing and Tianjin during weekends.
