Zhoushan in East China's Zhejiang province has made remarkable achievements in high-quality development in the first half of this year.
Specifically, the added value of the city's large-scale industries expanded 15.2 percent year-on-year, the highest in the province for 16 consecutive months.
The strong performance was largely due to Zhoushan's signature industrial clusters such as ship repair, auto spare parts manufacturing, and the petrochemical and fishery processing industries, which showed year-on-year increases of 30.9 percent, 21.9 percent, 15.7 percent, and 10.9 percent respectively.
Another significant contributor to the growth was the city's high-tech enterprises that are engaged in photovoltaics and chips, with the added value of high-tech industries increasing 16.1 percent year-on-year and accounting for 82.8 percent of the city's total.
Zhoushan is currently home to 1,259 provincial high-tech small and medium-sized enterprises and 266 high-tech enterprises.
